Meet the Administrators
Pinkerton Academy Mission Statement
Pinkerton
Academy’s mission is to nurture the growth of all students in a
challenging and respectful environment. The Academy fosters a
student-centered community with purposefully designed,
interactive, and relevant learning opportunities. While
celebrating the strengths of our traditions, we encourage
innovation in response to a changing world.
Pinkerton Academy Vision Statement
Pinkerton
is a unique, independent academy where students will become
responsible citizens and accomplished readers, thinkers, and
communicators with a passion for learning.
Points of Emphasis
As you read the Points of Emphasis, please keep in
mind that one of the reasons we have a great school is because
we provide students with a safe, secure, and productive
educational environment. At the heart of our efforts to make
sure that Pinkerton remains a great school is a disciplinary
code based on three principles - Courtesy, Respect, &
Responsibility.
Please take the time to
read the Student Planner that is issued to all students on the
first day of school. The
Student Planner (formerly the Student Handbook) contains
policies and procedures relative to student attendance and
discipline. It also contains calendar pages giving students a
place to organize and keep track of their assignments and
appointments that occur during the school year. Some school
event dates have been included this year and more information
will be added each year as we continue to make the planner an
integral part of the students’ daily routine. This year, we plan
to specifically stress the following Points of Emphasis.
Spending a few minutes reviewing these items with your child
will go a long way in helping us to maintain Pinkerton Pride!

Dress Code - Once again
the administration will be making a concerted effort to prevent
students from wearing inappropriate clothing to school. Warnings
and eventual detentions will be issued to students who are
marginally out of dress code. Students who are in gross
violation of the dress code will be sent home or held in
administrative offices until appropriate clothing is provided.
ATTENDANCE
ISSUES -
Pinkerton
Academy is a closed campus, which means that students cannot
come and go at will during the school day. Permission must be
granted by an administrative office following proper
procedures (Student Planner, p. 15-18). Cutting classes
and studies is another area of major concern. You must be
present and participate in your classes and practice good study
habits in order to attain good grades (Student Planner, p. 31).
Finally, being on time to school and classes is a good
habit to establish, as it will pay you dividends for the rest of
your life. Please review the updated tardy policy
(Student Planner, p. 18-19).
KEEPING
TRACK OF PERSONAL PROPERTY -
Please
bring to school only what is necessary for personal property or
money and keep track of where you leave them. If your
possessions and/or money are left around unattended, they
have a good chance of disappearing. Please help discourage theft
by being responsible with your personal property.
Cell Phones -
Students
are reminded to turn off cell phones when they are in
classes, study halls, labs, auditoriums, the library, gym,
writing center, locker rooms, and bathrooms.
BULLYING -
In accordance with RSA 193-F, bullying will not be tolerated at
Pinkerton Academy.
Students who engage in bullying behaviors defined as “conduct
which subjects a student to insults, taunts, challenges, whether
verbal or physical in nature, which are likely to intimidate or
provoke a violent or disorderly response,” will be subject to
disciplinary action including detentions, suspensions and
possible expulsion from school.
INAPPROPRIATE LANGUAGE -
Unfortunately over the last few years, there has been a
substantial increase in the use of vulgar language among our
students. No matter whether it is called profanity, swearing or
cursing, the use of offensive language shows little respect for
yourself, your peers, or the adults at the Academy; so please
remember where you are and what is appropriate. Let's keep our
campus a caring and enjoyable place to be.
SHARING COMPUTER ACCOUNTS & PASSWORDS
is absolutely not allowed.
Computer accounts are monitored constantly. If, however, you
choose to do this, you and the person you shared the information
with will lose the privilege of accessing your accounts and
disciplinary action will be taken. (Student Planner, p. 29-30)
Thank you!
