Colleges applied to by Pinkerton Academy Graduates in 2006-07

 

v     Looking at the top colleges to which Pinkerton Academy students have applied for the 2006/2007 school year, here are the following statistics:

 

UNH – 258 applicants – accepts ASL as FL requirement

Keene – 90 applicants – no FL requirement

Plymouth – 90 applicants – accepts FL

NH Comm. Tech System – 75 applicants – no FL requirement

Northeastern – 68 applicants – accepts ASL as a FL requirement (2 years) and has the BEST ASL interpreter program in the East.

SNHU – 63 applicants – no FL requirement

Johnson & Wales – 41 applicants – no FL requirement

  UVM – 38 – accepts ASL as a FL requirement

BU – 34 applicants – currently does not accept ASL as a FL requirement, but the debate is on – see URLs to that effect under Section 2, #10,11,12,and 13

Springfield College – 31 applicants – requires 3 years of same language, I did not receive a reply to my inquiry

Franklin Pierce – 31 applicants – no FL requirement

U. Mass. Lowell – 28 applicants – requires 2 years of same language – did not receive a reply to my inquiry

Amherst College – 28 applicants – requires 4 years of same language – did not inquire; not on college fair list

Roger Williams – 28 applicants – recommends 2 years of same language – did not inquire; not on college fair list

Quinnipiac – 28 applicants – no FL requirement

U Conn – 24 applicants – requires 2 years of same FL – does not accept ASL as a FL requirement

U Maine @ Orono – 24 applicants – did not receive a reply to my inquiry

University of Hartford – 16-23 applicants – did not inquire; not on college fair list

University of Harford, Suffolk, 16 – 23 applicants - did not inquire; not on college fair list

Boston College, Ithaca – 16-23 applicants - do not accept ASL

WPI – 16-23 applicants – no FL requirement

 Tufts  and Bentley– 16-23 applicants – requires 3 years of same language – accepts ASL as FL requirement
