SAT & PSAT for
Students with Disabilities
Any student with a disability who seeks accommodations on the SAT or PSAT should review the guidelines found in the SAT Registration Booklet or visit the website at www.collegeboard.com. Click here to learn more.
The college Board has set its own criteria for determining whether a student qualifies for accommodations in SAT or PSAT tests. An application must be completed and submitted to the College Board to determine a student's eligibility. If, after reviewing the guidelines, you believe you qualify, see your counselor right away to start the process. The deadlines to qualify for accommodations are generally 7 weeks prior to the test date. All deadlines are posted on the website.
No student should discard the dream of higher education and advancement due to a disability. Students should explore the excellent programs and services offered at the colleges, universities and technical schools of their choice.
Writing: Students will be asked to write an essay that requires them to take a position on an issues and use examples to support their position. Students can purchase "ScoreWrite" which is a supplemental booklet to the new SAT online course. Visit www.collegeboard.com/newsat for additional information.
Math: Will include Algebra II
Critical Reading: Currently known as verbal section, include shorter reading passages and existing long reading passages. Analogies will be eliminated, but sentence-completion questions will remain.
