**If under 18, your counselor must send a letter to the NH Department of Education stating why the GED would be in your best interest along with your withdrawal form from Pinkerton and a letter from you stating your date of birth, date of withdrawal and reason for wanting to take the GED**

Pinkerton GED Practice Test

For students who want to withdraw from school and are planning on taking the GED.

 

Results will be given to the student and to the counselor within one week of testing.

Center for Adult Learning

The GED Test Covers five areas: Writing Skills, Social Studies, Science, Interpreting Literature, and Math

           Practice GED Test: Offered on a weekly basis, please call for dates and times and to make an appointment. 

Fee: $10 administered Wednesdays 8:30am and 5:pm

           Official GED Testing: 9 hour, two-day GED exam is administered monthly.  Pre-registration is required in person.  You must be 18 years old, have a current photo ID with proof of NH residency, and $55 CASH which is non-refundable.

            12-Week GED Review: Course covers writing and math.  Please call for dates and times. $75 for one 6-week session, $140 for both

Jobs for NH Graduates offer one year of training, and one year of follow-up to youth ages 16-21 who have withdrawn from high school and could benefit from GED Preparation, Career exploration, Leadership Development, Job Placement, Occupational Skills Training, Employment Counseling, Service Learning, and Adult Mentoring.  The expectation is that students pass the GED, complete employability skills training and enter occupational skills training.  Classes are held Monday-Thursday 8:30-3:00 at the NH Community Technical College.

YOUTH EMPOWERMENT PROGRAM

The Youth Empowerment Program is now taking names for its fifth cycle.  The Youth Empowerment Program is an employment and training program for 18-21 year old men and women who need improved job readiness skills, meaningful employment skills training and educational skills. Located at 49 Manchester Street,  Manchester’s downtown district, the Youth Empowerment Program boasts a 75% GED passing rate with an average score of 2450 as well as a 75% placement rate into skilled occupations.  In order to qualify, youth must be:

-18-21 years of age

-Have not obtained GED or High School Diploma

-Meet low income criteria or receive TANF or Food Stamps

-Possess one or more documented barrier(s) including: pregnant, parenting, disability, criminal, or basic skills deficiency.
