The Trails Project
The Trails project is an educational model for integrating technology into the curriculum and learning experiences of the student. This unique project uses the backdrop and rugged beauty and rich history of the Sante Fe and Oregon Trails to accomplish its goals. An important focus of this project is to help teachers to learn to utilize these mediums for student-directed development of skills for exploration, content mastery, and collaborative work. English Resources
This site provides free resources to English Teachers whilst offering more than a little help to their students. It includes complete lesson plans on certain books, poetry, and authors. Cryptic Manor Puzzle Solvers -

Microsoft Lesson Connection is a set of tools designed to help teachers nationwide search for lesson plans matching their local and state curriculum standards. Created by Microsoft Corp. in collaboration with Tudor Publishing Company and Classroom Connect, Lesson Connection helps search through tens of thousands of online lesson plans. Teachers can embed search criteria based on Gateway to Educational Materials standard subjects and topic keywords in their own Web-based curriculum standard documents. Thirteen/WNET New York and Disney Learning Partnership have joined forces to create Concept to Classroom, a series of free interactive online workshops for teachers across the US. The nine monthly seminars cover a range of the latest teaching topics and methodologies. Each workshop contains tutorials, featured experts, online discussion areas and three live chat sessions with leading education experts.

The workshops are targeted at K-12 educators, including teachers, administrators, computer coordinators, librarians and media specialists. Workshops are suitable for all levels of Internet proficiency. Thirteen/WNET, New York, NY, www.wnet.org/wnetschool.

It is generally recognized that assistance is needed for all teachers at all levels to help find the appropriate resources. In early December of last year, U.S. Secretary of Education Richard W. Riley announced the availability of a Web site to help teachers find learning resources. It is designed to access more than 140 Web sites, retrieving information by topic, grade level and other criteria. Disney Learning Partnership has launched www.disneylearning.org, an extensive online resource for educators. The site is designed for educators who are striving to make their teaching more creative, stimulating and engaging

The Lightspan Partnership has developed Lightspan.com, a free K-12 education portal that offers

proprietary resources, curriculum-based content, and educator-reviewed search results. The portal helps teachers find high-quality educational content, tools and projects for the classroom. , www.lightspan.com.

"NotationStation" sounds like music to our ears

The Web School is Dell's newest addition to its K‑12 site, an on­line resource for educa­tors who want to go back to school (virtual­ly) to expand their knowledge of the Inter­net and its uses within the classroom. The Web School is designed to help teachers jump‑start their creative thinking about ways to bring classroom instructionto life. Educators who en‑, roll are given a resource to help them learn the internet in order to conduct research, develop lesson plans, and facilitate classroom discussions. Dell developed the Web School after a recent 'Dell‑commissioned study determined that students believe the internet will have a significant impact on their professional lives. The company hopes to bring teach­ers along in the internet learning curve so they, in turn, can help students prepare for careers that undoubtedly will require some use of technology and the internet.
