Pinkerton Heritage Society

Surprises can be bittersweet. When Pinkerton Academy received a bequest from the estate of a late, generous alumna, we were immensely grateful but also disappointed that we could not personally acknowledge her wonderful gift. The donation from this gracious Pinkerton “alum” will certainly help the Academy to accomplish its mission to effectively challenge each student to achieve his/her full potential.

If we had only known of the gift in advance, we would have appropriately said "Thank you."

In response to this kind gift, Pinkerton Academy has established the Pinkerton Heritage Society to recognize individuals who include the school in their estate plans through a bequest or deferred gift. Members receive an attractive certificate signed by the Headmaster and the President of the Board of Trustees, and an invitation to attend an annual reception including a special program and VIP tour.

"Many people don't think of Pinkerton Academy as a charitable foundation when they set up estate plans," said Anne Parker, Director of Alumni Relations, “but there are many things the Academy offers students that go well above and beyond the annual budget.” As examples, she cites new computers and software along with participation in state and national conferences and competitions.

"Pinkerton is extremely fortunate to have an endowment that has delivered many benefits over decades” continued Parker. "Planned giving including the Pinkerton Heritage Society will extend the endowment and the Academy’s financial resources.”

Funds received through the Pinkerton Heritage Society could be used for many purposes not included in the annual budget of the school, such as fine arts programs, expansion of athletic facilities, or to increase the number and scope of events offered to Pinkerton’s students and more than 17,000 alumni.

Would you consider Pinkerton in your estate plans? The Pinkerton Academy Alumni Office would gladly schedule a meeting at your convenience to discuss the process and benefits for planned giving.
