Course description:

 

670      BUSINESS TECHNOLOGY (double period)
This full-year, double-period (2 credit) course is designed for students interested in pursuing a career in business and/or pursuing a business-related degree in college. Computers, fax machines, high-speed/scanning copiers, and an advanced communications system are some of the equipment used throughout the course. Students will enhance skills in word processing, spreadsheet/database, and PowerPoint, develop human relations and personal development skills, and create a career e-portfolio design. Students will also assist in the development of the Critic yearbook by contacting businesses about ad placement. Students will experience project-based learning through the Business Technology services offered to the faculty and the community. Students may become certified in Microsoft Office.


PRE-REQUISITE: Successful completion of one of the following courses: Computer Applications 2, Desktop Publishing, or Web Page Design.

 

Registration through the CTE Office is required.

 

Students enrolling in this program should have completed one computer course. Students can become certified in Microsoft Office.
